Markets

The first goal for Australian lavender growers is initially to replace part of the lavender imports.
Markets do exist in Australia but only for commercial quantities.

Dried lavender imported from some countries eg China are very cheap in the marketplace, however the quality is inferior to the home-grown product.
Those producers and manufacturers using lavender in Australia need to be educated as to the quality of the local product.

One way to achieve this is to produce good quality in commercial quantities so that realistic samples can be forwarded to prospective buyers.
Many commercial users of lavender may only purchase once or twice per year however the quantities demanded are often in the tonnes.

Standardisation will be a requirement for the industry
